In times where average computer contains 2 or 4 phisical cores and additionally 2 or 4 virtual cores this app uses only one (1) to convert your files. Even if this is for free it is not what we would use. I do not recommend this application at this version.

Crashed when try to added a video for converting

Crashes 3 times out of 5, visual only, no audio support.

I have used this application before but now it’s not working. Please fix the bug. Thank u very much.

The to convert FLV files this program requires a plug in that no longer seems to exist. At least not in a form that you can download and just use. It looks to source code for the converer is stall available but claiming your app supports something that requries finding, building, and install other code from srouce does not seem like very ligetimage claim to “soorting it."

There are occasional loud pops in the audio not in the original clip, also “Rename” function doesn’t work...

I had to encode several avi files to mp4, and this worked like a charm. Thanks.

Don’t waste your time.

I had been looking, a long time, for a free MKV to MP4 converter that didn’t have a prolem encoding the audio, Free MP4 Converter is perfect. I used Handbrake, but every now and then it would render choppy audio, Free MP4 Converter saved me all kinds of time.

I love the way this application converts my files. I had an .avi file and I couldn’t figure out how to convert it. This application saves my time by 30 min. Because i only had 30 min left of patience before I lost it. I do recommend this for other users. It had no bugs, it runs perfectly on my mac book pro 15 inch retina. So far, no problems.

So, only 4 stars because it crashed on closing; however, it did the conversion “smoothly” : I just selected a bunch of .mov files and dropped on the tool, hit the “Start conversion” button and off it went. I had several .mov taken with the iPhone4, and about half of them was not imported in Adobe Elements 11 so I needed a tool to convert them to .mp4 and this one did the job for free. Remember to set the output folder.

Out of the 11 videos this program effectively and very efficiently converted 9 of my videos into mp4’s!!!! I am very satisfied. Unfortunaqtely I don’t know why the last two when loaded into the converter wouldn’t show video footage. I decided at first that a preview wasn’t necessary but it only converts the audio to mp4 :( The files I’m using can play/be seen as .mov, wonder why it doesn’t want to convert that same footage (as the other 9) into mp4’s.

Its not the bets app. You cant copy a URL and paste it in, it already has to be on your computer like a home video or something. This app is way overrated!

This converter does work to convert between mov and MP4 videos, but it doesn’t seem to read the input mov at the right framerate. I have some movs which were recorded at 20FPS. QuickTime and VLC play them correctly, but when I open the files in this converter, it reports that they are much shorter than they actually are, and plays them too quickly. Thus, the output video is also played too quickly, even if I manually set the output framerate.

I had a group school project, and my other group member works primarily on a Dell, where as I use a Mac. The problem arose when she created some amazing music video type clips, that would not play on my computer… After some initial dispapointment and looking around only to find websites and apps that now cost money, I was relieved to find this, and skeptical of the rather mixed reviews… My experience: The download and start up process for the app was around a minute, and there is a helpful little guide on how to upload videos. The buttons were easy to find at the top, I had no problem selecting the videos from my files, and a nice little addon is that a video preview appears on the right side. All the videos played smoothly, audio files were still in sync, and converting them into .mp4s for my computer took about 6 seconds for a minute long clip. All in all it was remarkably easy and I’m keeping this app for future issues.

This is a very limited “free” converter all changes to audio or video result in a need to upgrade to a pro version. I could not test any conversions or speeds since can’t use it for the applications i need them for so cant comment on anything but the default settings which are restricted to 2ch audio and passthrough of video. Sorry I’ll find another company that allows clients more access for a trial.

I have converted 3 old movies with Adriano Celentano from .avi to .mp4 to play on my iPhone during the flight. It works and the app have no bugs. Thanks for developers. Recommend
